How to save $6,000 a month by replacing a point-of-sale (POS) system
Custom Shopify-integrated platform for pricing, inventory, and point-of-sale management, built for a trading card game retailer and now available as a standalone SaaS product.
Client information

Life before Connect it
Le Coin du Jeu is a trading card game (TCG) retailer based in Terrebonne, Quebec. With a catalog reaching up to 800,000 SKUs whose prices change daily, the company relied on Binder POS, a costly point-of-sale system – several thousand US dollars per month, plus a 2% commission on sales. Despite this high cost, the tool offered a poor interface, missing features, and no support when problems arose, in a market where daily price updates for hundreds of thousands of cards made automation essential. Le Coin du Jeu was losing a considerable amount of time trying to adapt a generic tool to a very specific business reality.
Key challenges
The solution
Custom development of MarketSync, a Shopify-integrated platform centralizing pricing, inventory, and point-of-sale management for a trading card game retailer. Built with Angular, Nest.js, and PostgreSQL, the solution automatically aggregates data from multiple sources to keep pricing and card information up to date, leveraging artificial intelligence for some of these tasks. What sets this project apart is how it evolved: originally built to meet Le Coin du Jeu's internal needs, the solution became a standalone SaaS product, now used by other retailers who have moved away from platforms like Binder POS, Crystal Commerce, and StorePass.
Data management
Automatic aggregation of data from multiple sources for pricing and card information.
Inventory
Detailed inventory tracking with full traceability of adjustments.
Integrated point of sale
A point-of-sale system for physical stores, synced in real time with Shopify inventory.
Buy lists
A client portal allowing customers to sell their cards directly to the store.
In-store credit
An option offering customers a boosted credit (e.g., +20%) instead of cash.
Results one year later
Le Coin du Jeu now saves $6,000 a month in licensing fees compared to Binder POS. MarketSync is now a standalone SaaS product that has already onboarded retailers who previously used Binder POS, Crystal Commerce, or StorePass.
"Before, we wasted a ton of time trying to make Binder POS work for our specific needs, without ever getting support when something broke. With Connect it, we finally have a system built for our reality: buy list management, in-store credit, it's all there. And seeing MarketSync become a product that other retailers use today is something we're proud of."
