Life before Connect it

Founded in 1970, Groupe Rousso provides installation, maintenance, and cleaning services for ventilation and air conditioning products for commercial and residential clients.

For a field service company, accurately assessing the time required for each client visit is crucial. Overestimation means wasted time and fewer clients served per day. Underestimation requires cancellations and rescheduling, leading to poor brand image. Additionally, time estimates directly determine the price charged to clients.

Assessors would visit clients with paper evaluation grids to estimate the time required based on equipment. Back at the office, each assessor manually estimated the time based on their personal experience. Without reliable data, assessments varied greatly between assessors, with frequent large gaps between estimated and actual time.

For complex projects, the delay between receiving a quote request and sending the quote to the client was approximately one week.

The solution

Development of a custom web application to digitize the intervention time assessment process. The application is optimized for iPad, allowing assessors to enter all necessary information directly on their tablet at the client's location.

Client equipment and tasks to be performed are now entered directly into the calculation grid within the application, without having to return to the office. Everything is stored on a cloud server, providing access to client data anytime, anywhere.

An algorithm automatically calculates the required intervention time based on the information entered by the assessor, using past interventions and technician timesheets for highly precise estimates. The technical assessment report is then automatically generated.
